More About the Grand Philharmonic Youth Choir
The Grand Philharmonic Youth Choir welcomes singers aged 14 to 23. We make beautiful music in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and meet Tuesday evenings for rehearsals.
This season offers a wide variety of musical experiences for the Youth Choir singers as we move from classical performance, to pops, to gospel!
We begin the season with an incredible opportunity – joining the adult choir in the season’s opening performance of Haydn’s The Creation! This concert, depicting the beginning of the world and celebrating our beautiful natural environment, will be at Centre In The Square with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and soloists.
Then, in December, we are back at Centre In The Square for a fun performance of Yuletide Pops with the K-W Symphony.
And starting in early 2027, we will explore the rich world of gospel music Dr. Darren Hamilton and his associates, through workshops and a performance at the university of Toronto in February.
To finish off the season, we’ll have our own concert in the spring, followed by a party!
Also, youth choir members have the opportunity to tour in July 2027 to St. John’s, Newfoundland as part of the HarbourVOICES! festival. Find out more about that here.
