Sing with us!

Youth and Children’s Choirs

Young singers are welcome in our Children’s Choir (age 7 to 13) and Youth Choir (age 14 to 23). We offer performance opportunities, a first-rate music education, and terrific collaborations with musicians and singers all over the world – all in a fun and supportive environment! Our season begins in September and ends in spring.

In the 2023-24 season, the children’s choir took a trip to Niagara Falls to sing with the Chorus Niagara

children’s choir, and performed in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with KW Musical Productions.  Last season, they performed in the premiere of Water: An Environmental Oratorio with the adult and youth choirs in May 2023 at Centre in The Square. Our conductor is Andrea DeBoer-Jones.

The youth choir performed last October with the Grand Philharmonic Choir in Mozart’s Requiem at Centre In The Square with members of the former Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony. They also performed in April in a joint concert with the Carousel Dance Centre and the Children’s Choir. Our conductor this year is Greer Schatz.

Plans for 2024-25 include a wide variety of fun, educational activities and many performing opportunities, including a concert in collaboration with the Carousel Dance Centre, appearances at public events like the Christkindl Market in Kitchener, and (for those who are ready) participating with the adult choir in performances of Carmina Burana and the St. Matthew Passion at the Centre In The Square.

In June, some choir members will travel to Denver, Colorado to participate in the Sing a Mile High choral festival, with young singers from across the United States and abroad!

Graduating Children’s Choir singer
Joining the choir was a fantastic move on my part. I have loved music ever since I was born. I have been in many musicals and choirs in my life but this is the first time I've felt like I'm a part of it. I have also made a few friends here that have helped me greatly in ways they don't even realize.
